Containers

A Block Container is the root component of a web site. The Container is a flexible and responsive object that can hold other widgets. A Container can also enclose other Containers. A Block Container acts as a storage box that holds the widgets for your web site or for your WebApp.

When you design a page, you will generally start out by adding a Container to your page.

After you add a new Container Block, it will be shown in the DOM Navigator as seen below. Notice that it includes a Container that can be modified by double clicking on it to access the Advanced Property Settings.

Fixed Width

A Fixed Width Container has a maximum fixed size of 960px.

Full Width Container (Fluid)

A Full Width Container (Fluid) covers 100% of the screen area.

Back Stretch

A Full Width Container (Fluid) covers 100% of the screen area.When you select this option, the container will be displayed using all the available height of the screen. (Note that it is applied only when running the Web Site)

Tip! How to use the Container Block :

  • 1. Start a blank page.

  • 2. Add a Container Block Widget to your page by dragging it from the Widget panel onto the page.

  • 3. Double Click on the new Container Block to access its Advanced Property Settings.

  • 4. Select the Container Type dropdown menu to see the container options. (Fixed Width or Fixed Width Container (Fluid).

  • 5. After making your selection, click the Apply Button. Your Block Container is now ready to accept any other widget components that you want to add.
